PhD -The Silent Dress: immigrants, clothing & identity
This study contributes new knowledge to the subject of cultural identity and dress. The study aimed to devise an inquiry to employ my artists/researcher/teacher stance, along with social and cultural phenomena, namely discussion and art-making; to create an intercultural dialogue with adult immigrant women. The study was implemented to encourage the participants to explore the topic of dress. In doing so, they were invited through the arts-based workshop activities to discuss cultural dress and identity.
